One last story

We live right by the chain of lakes in Minneapolis. During one walk, Jeremy mentioned that there was a sort-of legend about a fairy door in one of the trees. This was a mistake. Telling an obsessive compulsive that one of the thousands of trees that surround the lake has a tiny door in it, turned me into a nervous lunatic. (Or made me look like a coke addict, as my eyes darted from side to side, searching tree trunks.)
Thankfully, two articles were written about the fairy door, and one contained directions on how to find it.
We meant to walk yesterday, but I had a shitty day and felt too poooped. We drove around the lakes instead. Near the end of the trip, Jeremy pulled over. I asked, "What are you doing?" He replied, "We're going to find the fairy door."
Sure enough, at the edge of the lake, a tree has a tiny locked wooden door. It looked much smaller in real life, and I would have missed it if I hadn't seen the brick and stack of letters sitting beside the tree. People leave letters and tokens for the fairy, and the fairy will leave responses for each letter he receives. On this particular evening, there was a cracker, a coin, and three separate letters in white envelopes.
Anyway, it was find to actually find it....and if you ever come to visit me, dear reader of this blog, we can make a trip to Lake Harriet to visit the fairy door.
